Step 1: review what’s giving you energy

Create 2 columns and brain-dump everything that comes to mind

⚡ FIRST WHAT ENERGIZES YOU (Makes time fly, you could do this for hours)

Think tasks, environments, people, types of problems:

  • Example: Brainstorming solutions, teaching others, working with data, being on video calls, working alone with headphones, fast-paced environments...

🔋 THEN WHAT DRAINS YOU (Makes you watch the clock, exhausts you)

Be brutally honest:

  • Example: Repetitive admin tasks, confrontation, rigid schedules, corporate politics, public speaking, detail-oriented work...

Spend 20 minutes: be exhaustive. Nothing is too small.

Step 2: AI is helpful!

Now let's use AI to connect the dots. Copy this prompt into ChatGPT, Claude, or your AI tool of choice:

PROMPT:

"I'm exploring career options and need help identifying roles that match my energy and values. Here's what I know about myself:

ENERGIZES ME: [Paste your list]

DRAINS ME: [Paste your list]

MY VALUES & PRIORITIES:

  • [List your values: e.g., sustainability, no rigid hierarchy, collaborative environment, continuous learning, work-life balance, mission-driven]

DEALBREAKERS:

  • [List them]

BACKGROUND: [Brief: your industry experience, skills, education]

Based on this, can you suggest:

  1. 10 specific job titles I should explore

  2. 5 industries or company types that might be a great fit

  3. Types of roles I should probably avoid (even if they seem like 'safe' options)

What do you notice? Take some time to see what is worth exploring further

Well done for completing this week of reflection and clarity.

This week was about reconnecting with who you really are, recognizing your strengths, and remembering that your uniqueness should always be your biggest asset.

Now it’s time for a well-deserved break. Pause. Breathe. Let it sink in.

We’ll be back on Monday to start Week 2.

Next week we get practical.
We’ll focus on making your value obvious : how to talk about what you do, what you bring, and why it matters, across your CV, LinkedIn, and everyday conversations, without overselling yourself. I have so many examples to share with you. Because - as a career coach - this is a very common topic I’m seeing

Have a great weekend, wherever you are in the world

Yours,

Stephanie
